Does solar actually work this far north?
Yes. Panels run on daylight, not heat, and modern panels generate meaningfully even under bright overcast. A well-aimed roof in the Eden Valley earns its keep.
Is a battery worth it?
For most homes, increasingly yes. Without one, the power you generate at midday gets exported cheaply while you buy it back dear in the evening. A battery keeps your own power for your own kettle.
