Warm when you want it, not at three in the morning.

Old storage heaters give their heat away by lunchtime. The new ones hold on to it until you need it.

Plenty of houses round here have no mains gas, so the electrics do the whole job. When the heaters are twenty years old it shows: a warm bedroom at breakfast, a cold sitting room at teatime, and a bill that never seems to match what you got out of it.

Modern high heat retention heaters work differently. They still charge up on the cheap overnight rate, but they hold the heat in and you decide when it comes out. Timers and room sensors do the thinking, so the warmth arrives when you are actually in. Greg will look at what you have got and tell you honestly whether replacing it is worth it.

He also fits electric radiators and panel heaters, immersion heaters, cylinders and hot water controls, and the dedicated circuits any of it needs. If the wiring behind the old heaters is past its best, he will say so before he starts, not halfway through.

Fair questions

Are new storage heaters worth the money?

If yours are the old brick type, usually yes. They give their heat away while the house is empty and have little left for the evening. If yours are better left alone for now, Greg will tell you that instead.

Can you replace just one to start with?

Yes. Plenty of people do a room at a time and spread the cost over a couple of winters. The circuit and the supply get checked either way.

Do I need a special tariff?

Storage heating runs on an off-peak rate overnight. If you already have one, you are set. If you do not, Greg will explain what it would mean before you commit to anything.
